अध्यक्षज्यूको सन्देश

Feelings of the necessity for agricultural professional societies were conceptualized as early as 1960. Since then, within the broad framework of agriculture, as many as 15 professional associations/societies have born. Out of all these Nobel societies, “Nepal Agriculture Association” is a pioneer one. All professional societies born after 60's are its off springs in one way or other. In the course of time, after having consensus among members of professional societies functioning for the benefit of members, and for the overall development of agriculture in the country; NAF was formed in 2006, as an umbrella organization for fostering mutual understanding, good professional relationships and meaningful cooperation among the member societies, bound by ties of professional history and culture.

We all are well aware of the fact that agriculture is a multifaceted sector requiring multidimensional approach for its development.  It is no doubt, an oldest vocation of human being after they left the hunting and nomadic culture. Many people in Nepal think that if there is good rain, agriculture flourishes. However, it is not always true. It is as sensitive as the combination of   elements of matter: life and consciousness, intelligence and divine spark. Realizing the fact that the “Human Resource” is the heart of agricultural development, NAF has attempted to bring together information about Nepalese agriculturists. I hope, this will facilitate all well-wishers of agricultural development in this country to know our strengths in terms of technical manpower, and to introduce Nepalese agriculturists amongst themselves and to the outside community.

Effort made by NAF to launch this website and profiles of its member organizations is a good beginning to have professional unity in diversity. With this attempt we have tried to provide all the available information about our member societies and their members’ profiles. This website may contain some unintentional errors and mistakes.  Please excuse us for any missing or incomplete information. We assure to improve this important document in the future editions.  Furthermore, despite our desire and efforts to include the profiles of all the societies with which we grew up and lived together, and are working for the same cause to improve the livelihood of poor farmers; we failed to do so due to some reasons, beyond our control. This is the beginning of our endeavor: a landmark has been set, now the challenge is to continue adding the layers as desired by the moment in time to come. Hope, it will be done in much better style than the present one.

NAF is highly indebted to the government of Nepal (NPC, MoALD and DoA) for their support and cooperation. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Himalayan IT for improvising the website according to the demand of present time and launch of this website. All member societies' continuous support and cooperation to NAF is highly appreciated. This website is the output of the untiring efforts of all the members of the NAF executive committee. The President, NAF would like to duly acknowledge it. Thanks are due to all those who supported altruistically to bring out this website.
